Resourceful In Maus, Hiroshima, And The Diary Of A Young Girl

Tony Robbins once said, “It’s not only resources but resourcefulness that ultimately makes the difference.” If no one was resourceful or crafty (or accidentally invented anything), how would we be where we are today. Chances are we would all still be cavemen. There are some people that are very resourceful like in Maus, Hiroshima, and Anne Frank; The Diary of a Young Girl. That’s why resourcefulness is one of the best ways to respond to conflict.

Hiroshima is a good example of resourcefulness. In the book the people had to use what they had left to survive, or they had friends to keep them alive. Those friends either took them to a hospital, red cross center, or just took care of them until they could move. After the war ended Miss Nakamura had evidence of the money she had in her bank account, so she took her paper to the bank and got her money. With her money she bought a sewing machine. Then she sewed and cleaned for people to provide enough money for food for her children.

This connects to Anne Frank because her dad had many connections. The author stated, “Father has received a call-up from the SS...Mother has gone to see Mr. van Daan.”That’s how Anne got a place to hide. Without that connection no one would know about Anne

Anne’s diary begins on her thirteenth birthday, June 12, 1942, and ends shortly after her fifteenth. At the start of her diary, Anne describes fairly typical girlhood experiences, writing about her friendships with other girls, her crushes on boys, and her academic performance at school. Because anti-Semitic laws forced Jews into separate schools, Anne and her older sister, Margot, attended the Jewish Lyceum in Amsterdam. The Franks had moved to the Netherlands in the years leading up to World War II to escape persecution in Germany.…
