Geeting treatment for mental illness can be difficult for anyone. However, for members of ethnic and racial minority groups, the road to treatment is often blocked by cultural views of mental disorder and therapy. In the case of Katarina, the author will use a Collaborative Language Systems Treatment Plan (Gehart & Tuttle, 2003, see Appendix A). The author’s primary concern in the early-phase is to support and maintenance of a dialogical space and assessing Katarina suicidal level (see Appendix, B, C).
