Resolution Writing
Many people, amongst time of the new year decide to craft resolutions ina act to better themselves for the new year. So basically resolutions are goals people set for themselves because they say, “Hey! New year, new me.” Now I have been forced upon the drive to get good grades to come up with 5 resolutions that I may or may not accomplish. They are:
Get better grades
Read more
Eat less sweet/salty foods
Make the swim team
And get out more
Now the one I picked is reading cause I should read more. My reasons of choosing this above all else is cause reading is “important’ and builds a good “foundation” for learning. It also “expands” your vocabulary. LAstly, if you don’t read now you’ll have “trouble” getting through …show more content…
How I would overcome it is probably like balence it out, like every page I read I get that amount of minutes doing other things, I would only have to read 30 pages to get 30 minutes off, but I could change it to however long the book is. Second challenge is that I don’t have time for reading, sometimes I have to go in long car rides to things like swim practice, or other activities my brother and sister have cause my dad's not home from work/other work related stuff yet. My mom says I can’t read in the car couse I’ll get what you call “car sickness” but i’m fine with it, i’ll probably just use the time that i’m nauseated to take a break from my book. ANd lastly not wanting to read, but i’ve previously stated I can reward myself for when I do read. Now, if(it’s an if) that I complete this resolution, I will feel a deep sense that I kind of wasted my time, but also the slight satisfaction that I have bettered myself. Now my advice for others trying to start a resolution, start strong, keep going, a have a cheat day every once in awhile. What i mean by cheat day is that you don’t have to do (or continue) your resolution on that day. Like a break
