The God of Small Things is a prime example of the exploration and modification of the English language as created by Anglos. The author discusses Caste-system and love laws in India through a spectacular use of language. Roy as Margaux Vandamme asserts: " manages to create a hurryingly beautiful novel in which she shows how the 'big things' such as caste system, gender divides, and patriarchy are crushing th ' small things' like family bondes, friendship and love" (61) Roy also displays in her novel how the small things matter and can make great changes, and resistance counts even if it is done through simple means. Velutha ,The paravan, fights against his fixed position in society by learning new skills and getting education and these things are not meant to be done by people from his class which reflects the author's conviction of the importance of education in resistance. Women also have a magnificent role in shaping and building society after times of great distress. That is why the novel is written from a feminine perspective.
