Resilon as a filling material

Introduction

Optimal root canal filling material must achieve the following characteristic :-

-Prevent leakage -dimensionally stable . -noncarcinogenic -biocompatible . -radiopaque .

This essay seek to illustrate the comparison between resilon and other filling material from ; the point of long-term , fracture resistance , Microleakage and Antimicrobial Activity . A-long term :-

at Texas A&M university college of dentistry one hundred tooth has been treated , 50 teeth treated by resilon and 50 with gutta-percha . all cases had no radiolucencies at the radiograph . other risk factor has been evaluated '' age , sex , location of the tooth '' , the result was 65% of resilon obturated teeth were successful

Group c and Group d 12 roots were used as control groups (positive and negative). The final results resilon has less microleakage compared to get gutta-percha .

D&E-relation with anti-microbial activity :-

Measuring the doxycycline stability with gutta-percha compared resilon , elimination of microorganisms in the root canal is a must to achieve an optimal root canal treatment , the study showed that the amount of remaining doxycycline with gutta-percha higher than resilon .

Measuring the MTAD stability with gutta-percha compared resilon , 90 tooth divided to 3 groups according to the obturation material , the activity of MTAD with with gutta-percha was higher the teeth obturated resilon .

Conclusion:-

-resilon had higher chance of failure compared with gutta-percha .
-resilon had Hight fracture resistance and it could be an alternative to with gutta-percha .

Sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) has been the most frequently used irrigant in endodontic therapy. Your properties include antimicrobial effect and tissue dissolution capacity (Estrela). However, some accidents can happen due NaOCl extrusion to the buccal tissues. Extrusion of NaOCL may occur because of extreme pression of irrigation solution, widening of the apical foramen, incorrect working length, areas of external resorption or root perforations (references). Sodium hypochlorite is caustic to the cancellous bone, degrading the organic matrix, (Kerbl, 2012) and to the soft tissues causing cell injury in endothelial cells and fibroblasts and ulcerations (Gatot,…

Thinking and reading critically were very important this whole course. Thinking and reading critically were something you would have to do in every assignment that was given. Incorporating it in every assignment has helped us greatly improve week by week and betters our understanding of each topic and the assignments main idea.…

However, that may have been the case before I entered Dr. Byrd’s domain, but after finishing the class I have come to the realization that English class can be greatly resourceful. English 102 this year has had its ups and downs, and I must admit the ups outweigh the downs. Meaning, this year, I have learned that I am not a student who wants to read or write, but through reading and writing my mind and skill sets concerning English have grown. During English 102 this year, reading and writing in class helped me expand my writing skills, improved my will to comprehend, and most importantly helped expand my knowledge.…
