Many people go through many variations of stressful or hard challenges in their life time. How they deal with those obstacles is up to the person but depending’s on the situation the person may experience resiliency or mental toughness to help them through the time. It helps them push themselves more than they thought they could do. Athletes, soldiers, businessman, and any multitude of people can experience these abilities. People can even be trained or practiced to strength their abilities to become stronger psychologically. Resiliency and mental toughness help people cope with life events that effected them and people go through these traits about everyday of their life.

Mental toughness can be defined in a number of ways. Whether it be willpower, courage, optimism, or how someone overcomes failure. This psychological ability that a person has helps them cope with stress and resultant anxiety. This toughness helps people be better than their rivals or opponents in remaining determined to keep things under control. When having mental toughness there are four c’s that people follow to try to handle the state of the psychology. The first being being the process of having control. If a person can process multiple things at once and remain calm and under control, this helps with people become comfortable while maybe being uncomfortable. The second c is the word challenge. This helps people look at a task that can be overcome and completed. When completing the task this can help a person grow or improve in their performance and their abilities. The next c people take to the road of mental toughness is commitment. This helps people set goals to meet and they stay determined to meet those goals. Those who want to be mentally tough are committed to taking advantage of every chance they get to improve and get
