Resilience research focused to identify two subsumed factors, as the factors which promote resilience and the risk factors which resist resilience (Luthar, 2005). The ability to sequester risk and develop protective factors in child is the key factors for a child become productive and well adjusted adults. The study of risk, protective factors and resilience has enabled social scientist to understand which factors place children’s ability to face adverse situation in jeopardy and which factors helps the children to develop skill to cope in difficult situation (Boyden & Mann, 2005). So resilience research in institutionalized children provides an insight to what the impact institutionalization on children and help to identify the available protective factors and existing risk factors in the setting. The outcome from this research can guide the policy makers, practitioners and other stake holders on how best to assist children to cope in extreme adverse
