I stayed away from the gym for nearly 2 years. Once again I started hearing “You need to lose weight!”. I reflected on my prior struggles and my ways of solving them, and I knew that I needed to get back to working out. It was a tough transition getting back into a routine and finding new workouts I had never done before. Making a commitment to myself, I knew that I wasn’t going to give up this time. I lost around 60 pounds and I felt great. This was good, but I knew that I could do even better. I kept training harder and harder at the gym, going 5 days a week. Through all of this training, I came to the realization that working out had a much more profound effect on me. It wasn’t all about looking better, it was about strengthening my willpower and resilience. I learned what it was like to make a long term goal a reality. To this day, I still go to the gym 5 days a week and look back on what I accomplished. I have reached a point in my life where I want to apply that resilience to a career in
