The company slogan is ‘We love our job, and it shows’ and we strive to live up to it. The fact we are in tune with the needs of our customers and deliver the highest-quality paint job money can buy sets us apart from our competitors. New customers get a 10% discount, 15% if they are veterans.

Depending on the square footage of a property, we can paint two or three rooms in a day. When we start an interior paint job, we always move the furniture to the center of the room at no extra cost. We mask off the windows, cabinetries, and ceilings with masking tape, and patch any holes caused by nails or cracks. We then caulk the baseboards and crowns and sand the surfaces before applying the paint. Finally, we apply primer (when needed) and a further two coats of paint.

Before we can start painting the outside of a property, we pressure wash the surfaces, and repair any cracks or voids in the building using high-quality materials. Paint is applied using the brush, roll, and spray method and it usually takes an hour and a half before the surface can be touched. We always suggest that a client pressure washes their home at least once a year to maintain lasting

If there is cracks we get the electric sander out and take the paint down into the primer or into where the cracks stop. The third step is to start sanding on the cars body. We have to make sure we get all the "orange paint" off so the paint will stick. Finally, the painter primes the car and the process gets repeated. Sanding the car back down, getting everything level and after that it goes back to paint and when he's done he water sands it and buffs it to bring out the shine.…

The challenge in restoration that arises from its usage is that it is difficult to repair damaged areas. This is due to the fact that in order for the vitreous paint to achieve permanence, the glass must be fired in a kiln. One infers that if restorers were to fire the fragile, aged glass, it would not survive the extreme temperatures. Thus, restorers must decide whether they should apply vitreous paint to the faded area with the knowledge that it will not be permanent, or simply leave the paint in its present condition. From an aesthetic perspective, painting the window would be preferable, however, in many cases it may be better to leave the fragile paint layer unrestored.…

Joan Mitchell’s Chamonix 1962 painting appears to be a mess at first glance; paint violently pushed across canvas, no focal point and seemingly just no point to this piece. However, by giving a name to this abstract mess, we are able to begin to use our imagination to begin to see shapes take form to see that Mitchell has made an abstraction of a French mountain and it is our job as a viewer to use our minds to make a story of her canvas. Mitchell’s 200 by 217.2cm canvas overtakes your vision the second you step in front of it. As you stare at all the paint splattered in the middle of the painting, you begin to notice that it’s not just a mess of paint. Mitchell didn’t do a ‘Jackson Pollock’ and slap paint on the canvas.…

Rome was a polytheistic culture. This meant they believed in many gods and goddesses that all represented their own aspect of life or nature. The Romans were so devoted to them that they built massive buildings of worship to them known as the Pantheon. Not only did the Romans took what the gods said as law, but even incorporated them in their everyday lives and their ceremonies as well. This can be seen on the three wall paintings located in the Roman exhibit in the Metropolitan Museum of Art.…

Memorials hold a special place in many countries showing the struggles their ancestors went through and leaving their mark on history for centuries to come. Memorials represent important moments in history, however, the construction of one includes several factors that must take careful consideration. Location and design are very important for size as well as placement, the event or the person that the memorial is for and, of course, it also depends on how costly the project is. A location must be one of the first things to consider before building. A historical figure should not be constructed in just any place in the world.…

Throughout this course I have gained more of an appreciation for artwork and the artists that create them. I have also gained an appreciation for the people that try to define what art is in general or more specifically what makes good art. We have read great thinkers and their philosophies on this, and the fact that even people of such great intelligence can disagree on the subject proves how challenging it can be. By reading the opinions of these great thinkers, and by discussing their thought with our class, I feel I am in a much better place as to define what makes good art myself. I define art as anything created by someone that inspires another to appreciation.…

Some of the tricks that will be discussed work better with a particular kind of paint so keep that in mind as progress is made on your work of art. For tempera and acrylic, my favorite thing to do is the glob various colors of paint on a piece of paper, then either fold is in half or lay another piece on top of the sheet with paint on it. Smooth the paint away from the center or crease of the paper and then unfold or pull apart. This must be done quickly so that the paint doesn’t dry with the sheet still together. If it does dry before the sheets are separated the will likely tear.…
