Upon reading this case, there appeared to be so many relevant factors involving this incident, certainly after further review of this situation, the outcome should be predicated on the final results in determining an appropriate course of action.
Decision: The ultimate decision in this case involves whether or not the residential RA’s should be terminated, due to their involvement in a party in a residential hall/ room while on duty, which also involved consumption of alcohol by several underage staff.

1) Allow RA’s to keep their jobs, docking or suspending them without pay, 2) place RA’s on probation for their behavior for one-year, any other incidents will result in termination and expelled from school, 3) perform 20 hours of community service, placed on disciplinary probation for one semester and 4) termination of RA’s once new staff have been hired and trained. Advantages/ Disadvantages to Options: Some of the obvious advantages associated with addressing each of the optional approaches to this matter would be; RA’s keep their job, no need to hire and train additional staff, current staff is experienced, no overlapping in coverage, shift coverage would not be a problem, no over working staff due to coverage reason and RA’s are well liked among residential students. However, there are some major concerns and disadvantages associated with some of the alternatives mentioned above. Therefore, without enforcing some level of consequences sends the wrong message to others from an institutional standpoint, it also leaves the college exposed and vulnerable to future lawsuits. However, I would not dismiss them until the end of the semester. This would allow the college the best opportunity to hire new staff, training new hires and still maintaining sufficient coverage during this process. Taking such an approach, doesn’t place additional strain on scheduling, shift coverage or potentially over working those individuals not involved affected by this course of action. The Hall Director (Jennifer), should also take the same course of action and fire the RA’s for the number of violations committed in this incident. Again, such course of action is necessary and staying consistent in a joint effort in enforcing those policies minimizes any potential discontent among the institutional departments. This also, sends a clear message to student’s employees the level of high expectations and responsibility placed upon all of those employed under the
