Research Proposal: The Cypress College Disability Support Services

Have you ever been in a situation where you feel left out? Many students have faced similar situations throughout the years and it goes unnoticed. Some of these problems are due to a person having medical conditions and being different. Cypress Community College offers several student services for those with special needs, DSS being one of them. The DSS program which is short for, Disability Support Services, offers an agenda which is specifically designed to give those students the opportunity to participate in furthering their education. Faculty members make it their priority to help students create a Student Educational Plan. Personal planning and counseling are customized to meet each student’s goals. Having professors assist special needs students, with note taking and special classes that are specifically designed for them, eases their fear of continuing their learning goals. Priority registration is a big benefit, as some courses do tend to fill up fast. Referrals help individuals’ access information that can help them, whether it is academically or career wise. And for those who have financial issues, providing them with special devices and computers is one of the best amenities that this school could offer.
