Suffering from this disease is not only extremely painful and exhausting but also emotionally devastating for the people that suffer from it and their families. Fighting cancer is even more difficult when children are the ones suffering from this disease.
There are several ways we can help families with children that suffer from cancer. We can donate money that will provide healthcare for these children and fund cancer research that remains an important part in our ongoing fight against cancer. The American Childhood Cancer Organization (http://www.acco.org/donate) and St Jude Children’s Research Hospital (https://www.stjude.org/give.html) are just two out of many other institutions dedicated to the research and treatment of childhood cancer.

Volunteers working in this project will sell lemonade donated by Panera Bread Cafes to raise funds to satisfy the educational and financial needs of children suffering from cancer (Project Lemon-Aid for Kids, n.d). We can also donate blood that can be used in the treatment of this disease. Blood transfusions are used in cases of Blood loss during surgery and the use of chemotherapy during treatment.
If each of us does at least one of these solutions we will help children that suffer from cancer in our community and all over the country fight against

As someone who has had cancer affect their family, Terry’s story has always impacted the way I view helping other people. I can recall in grade 2 when I participated in my first Terry Fox Run, which aims to raise money for cancer research and finding a cure. Since then I have seen Terry’s legacy live on. Ever since the diagnosis, I have thrown my energy into service-oriented clubs and organizations. At my school, I am one of the presidents of the B+ club, an organization that raises funds for families fighting pediatric cancer and cancer research. One of the main events of the club is the student-run annual volleyball tournament; these past few years for the tournament, I have helped create and organize our care package program where we give “care packages,” filled with games, candy, blankets, and more, to about twenty kids with cancer. Additionally, I assisted one of my classmates in her Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Student of the Year campaign.…

Cancer is a disease caused by non-stop division of cells and it can happen almost anywhere in the human body. People who are stricken with this disease are people who are loved and will be missed when they inevitably die.…

Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), a cancer of the blood that is common in young children is currently incurable and has a high relapse rate amongst children (between the ages of 1-15 years), specifically boys. To elaborate, this disease is the cancer of white blood cells (WBCs) in which the body (depending on the type of ALL) over produces an abundance of immature lymphocytes in the bone marrow altering the immune system (i.e. the immune system becomes susceptible to infections, improper clotting, etc.).
