After reading human development for young adults and older adults from Fundamentals of Nursing, I decided to focus on young adulthood: ages 18 to 34. I chose this topic because that is the age group I am in. I found this topic interesting as well as providing additional knowledge. Within this age group, people are beginning to branch out from their parent’s homes as well as experiment with new things. For many people, graduation from high school marked the transition period from adolescent to young adulthood. I especially found it interesting that 20-30 years ago, 21-to 22-year olds were married, expecting children, graduating college, as well as settling in on a long-term job.
