Megan Hoffman The truth and importance of Gray Wolves Even under protective laws, Gray Wolves are still being killed! Although people tend to look down on wolves in general, it does not mean it's for good reason or acceptable. There is more to any creature then meets the eye, and for Wolves it is especially so. Gray Wolves are of a greater benefit then what we give them credit for and are often mistreated or otherwise viewed as something unwanted, unneeded, and ill-received. The Gray Wolf species has long been damned and slaughtered for minuscule infractions and illusions of identity despite how they are unlike their fabled counterparts, are viewed as "Spiritual brothers" by some Native Americans (Swinburne 10), and are beneficial to their…

Between 1977 and 1980, the last five wolves were captured from Mexico in order to be put into a breeding program in the U.S. (Southwest Wildlife). A recovery plan was approved by the United States Fish and Wildlife Service in 1982 and by 1996 an official EIS (Environmental Impact Statement) was released. On March 29, 1998, after years of breeding programs, wolves were released into the BRWRA (Blue Range Wolf Recovery Area) (Progress Report). Thirteen wolves were released but of these thirteen, five were shot, which just goes to show how controversial this project has been since its implementation (Tangley). Wolves are still being released today and populations are rising, though very slowly.…

Many ranchers are frustrated with ranching in a wolf reintroduction area. Ranchers and farmers still have livestock in the wolf recovery region. “Wolf depredations on livestock have occurred every year since 1999 — one year after the re-introduction of Mexican wolves into the wild. ”(Balcomb, 2017, para. 22) Many farmers don’t apply for help from the USDA for depredations on livestock due to all the bureaucratic red-tape and the depredation fund has no money to repay ranchers. People who live far enough away from the reintroduction area are happy for the wolf reintroduction.…

Dear commercial Interests, In my opinion I say wolves should stay because They have two fancisinting ways to communicate to their pack. The first way wolves communicate to their pack is by yelping to communicate to their pack or howling if you ever get to hear a wolf howling it is how they communicate to their pack. If you shoot a wolf the wolf will make a whimper sound and that shows that they are in danger. Also,Biologists believe that wolves should be in yellowstone park because the wolves in yellowstone park help control the animal population by eating them. For example,If there was no more wolves and their was only sheep then the sheep will eat all of the producers like plants and the plants won't grow because the sheep keep on stepping on…

This perception of wolves may have widely encouraged the creation of the werewolf, a murdering, and torturing composite creature. That embodies the impulsive and unreasoning side of an animal and the violent and dangerous side of humans.…
