William Harvey William Harvey was born in Folkstone, England on April 1, 1578. William Harvey was born into a wealthy family: his father, Thomas was a very successful businessman and his mother, Joane, gave birth to nine children, William was the eldest of the nine. At age 15 William enrolled as a medical student at the university of Cambridge on a scholarship for his tuition fees and living costs. Harvey was in the scientific field of anatomy and he was a physician to King Charles. At age 50 Harvey published his book De Moto Cordis or in English, The Motion of the heart. After the book Harvey became the first person to correctly describe the function and circulation of blood throughout the entire body. Harvey had corrected some of the errors
