The White Tiger is a subspecies of a Tiger, found throughout the Indian subcontinent. Although the population of the White Tiger is humongous, these animals are super rare as their fur color is dependent on a defective and recessive gene that is passed down by their parents. Over the past couple of centuries, the White Tiger has become even more rarer in the wild due to hunting or capturing an exotic pet trade, with there having been no recorded sightings of these majestic beasts for the past 50 years. Today, the White Tiger can still be found in tons of zoos and animal reservation around the world with these large and magnificent felines often being the MAIN attraction. Like any other Tiger species, the White Tiger has black or dark brown stripes that run downward along it's body, the pattern of which is distinct to both the Tiger species and the individual. Along with the change in fur color, the gene that is transferred by the White Tiger’s parents also signifies that they have blue eyes rather than the normal green or yellow colored eyes of Bengal Tigers. Regardless of the beauty of the White Tigers fur, it does in fact give these individuals have a disadvantage as they are not so easily camouflaged into the surrounding jungle. Only in the winter snow do they blend into the world. The beautiful animal would once have been spotted across much of India and the surrounding countries but their kind has decreased sadly, mainly over the past 100 years.
