My 15th birthday was a big mark from childhood to adulthood because my family is mostly hispanic and a 15th birthday also know as a quinceañera is a big part of our culture. And with this birthday people know that you are ready to be more responsible and that you can be trusted to do more things that you were not be able to do before. With the responsibility that my parents gave my I got a better phone, I got to go places alone and just do things with more freedom. I could stay home alone while my mom went to work and I could stay with my sister and take care of her. I got to make my own decisions, one of the big decisions that I had to make was to pick a high school. And already knew that I did not want to go to the high school that my friends were going to to plus I wanted to get to know new people that I can gain their trust. So my decision started with Del Norte high School in Albuquerque, NM and I wanted to go to this school because my bigger sister went there and I knew it was a good school. But then something changed my mind, there was still 2 month for me to finish middle school and a person from my school told me that I had a lot of potential and that she wanted me to go to Nex+Gen academy. She told me that this school would be good for me and in my mind i was thinking that i would give it a try and she gave me more information and the date for an open house that they were going to have so I attended that open house and I really liked it so I ended up attending that school and it was a good school and I liked. Discuss an accomplishment or event, formal or informal, that marked your transition from childhood to adulthood within your culture, community, or family. As the pages of my favorite childhood story flutter through my fingers, memories of fantastical worlds flood my mind. I begin to read aloud about the four children, sent away to a mysterious house and the wardrobe that transports them to a magical new land. The tale is just as enchanting as I recall, but this time through the story, the magic I appreciate most is not found in the pages of The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe.…

I learned so much from attending Etna-Dixmont School, both morally and logically. When I started my freshman year at Nokomis Regional High, I found that a lot of the things I was being taught were things that I had already learned at Etna-Dixmont School. I feel like I had gotten a jumpstart, especially in maturity. My teachers drilled the importance of respect and responsibility into my brain from the first time I stepped foot into the building. I feel like that has been a huge advantage to me in high school, and I have used that knowledge for the better.…

The one accomplishment that marked my transition from being a child into becoming an adult would have to be when I got my first job at Culver’s. This accomplishment was a major milestone in my life which lead to many other great things to follow it. After applying to many different places I finally got a call back from Culver’s saying that they would like to have me come in to have an interview with me. At first I was a nervous wreck, but with the help of some really good friends with some good tips on how to dress, talk, and answer some of their tougher questions. I had the confidence to finally get out of my comfort zone and started doing what regular kids do, which seemed impossible the year before. For such a young person, I sure did realize how mature I was. I learned the habit of not complaining about what is wrong and instead getting up to actually fix it. Having experienced this, I learned that my passion was in making a difference in other people's’ lives. I know I am driven to spend the rest of my life doing it.…

In my transition from childhood to adulthood one event stands out. This event was my experience with the American legal system as a witness to a friend that was being unjustly persecuted. I learned through this process that the legal system has multiple steps which all take a painstakingly long amount of time to occur, and in every step the pressure, nerves, and anxiety built.…

Throughout people’s lives they experience compelling and momentous situations where they gain knowledge and an awareness of the realities of life. I’ve always been a child at heart, I love water balloon fights, building snowmen, and having tea parties while playing cards with my sisters. But just because I enjoy these things doesn't make me more or less a child or an adult. I have faced the harsh realities of growing up with a disabled sibling and an absent parent due to work.…

It is a universal truth that children envy adults and adults envy children. What is ironic is they are both right. When transitioning from childhood to adulthood, a child has to leave his or her carefree world behind to take on the real world. There are many similarities between these two stages of life such as the continuous desire to learn and the necessity of friendship. The differences outweigh the similarities though, including the difficulties of aging, the burden of responsibilities, and the troubles of decision making.…

I believe that my transition from childhood to adulthood, both from my own perspective and others, occurred most drastically during my work experiences as an archaeological field technician. It was an abrupt change that I had to adapt to as I became completely responsible for all aspects of my life and wellbeing, as well as taking on the roles and responsibilities most commonly associated with adulthood in my family, community, and country as a whole. Starting my sophomore summer of high school I worked in the summers and during breaks as a surveyor/field technician with the private archaeological consulting firm TRC Solutions Inc. This later evolved into living out of a hotel away from home while working 40+ hour 7am-4pm work weeks doing shovel…
