Many of us wish we can see aliens, or at least have our bodies taken over by them. Yes this is the dream for some of us and how amazing it would be for us to be controlled by an Extraterrestrial in our lives. Lucky for Melanie, she gets to be the one to try it.( Meyer 12) The specific alien like figures name is “Wanderer”. You may think that the Wanderer easily took over Melanie’s body with no difficulties right? Wrong is what you are. The Wanderer had to fight off Melanie all throughout the story and saw many things that she shouldn’t have seen. They go through a lot together and are about to go through one heck of a journey.

And, clumsily, Jaime fell on his knife, after coming for a supply run with Jared. Wanda tries to treat him but somehow convinces Jared to take them to a healing center in Tucson, Arizona (521). They must do this because the wound was starting to get infected. Once they got there, Wanda tricks everybody into giving her the medicine needed to treat the wound. This extreme act of kindness and compassion raises the respect her group has for her, greatly. Except for Kyle. Jared noticed the value of having her on the team. He then takes Wanda out on a supply run and it pays off greatly because she can shop at alien-run shops without raising suspicion (621). However, why they return to the cave, they see that a seeker killed one of the one cave inhabitants, and took the body of one of them too. Again, Wanda was able to save the alien creature by doing some type of procedure that saves the human cave-dweller.( 673) Wanda then dedicates the rest of her life to saving people and even gives Melanie her body back. Along the Journey, they find more and more humans who have been overrun by these alien like creatures and helps save the human.( 562) In a weird way, since Wanda is an alien too, she is betraying her kind by helping to save humans. Sometimes she can save both of them, other times not. As you can see Wanda has developed into something extraordinary.(
