In Greek legend, Trojan War was famous war waged by the Greeks armies after the escape of Hele of Sparta by Paris of Troy (or Iliad). Everything start when Cassandra (Priam’s daughter King of Troy) predicts the destruction of Troy because of the birth of his brother, Prince Paris. That is why Paris was abandoned as a baby to die. However, that never happened because Paris was picked up and raised by a pastor. Then, years later, Paris learned of his true origin and returned to the Trojan court where he was given all the honors as prince. Paris was invited to a party at the Menelaus palace, King of Mycenaean Sparta, the husband of Helen of Troy. Then, when Menelaus finds out that they have escaped he summons a large coalition of Greek polis to attack Troy. The war was already underway, and Troy had to prepare to be attacked by a great and strong army that would soon reach the city's famous walls, which no enemy had been able to overcome. The great Greek army was led by the brother of Menelaus, Agamemnon, and had the help of Achilles the best warrior of the antiquity. Also, they had the help of Ulysses, main protagonist of the Odyssey and the most astute and intelligent and Ajax, a giant with incredible power. However, the Trojans relied blindly on Hektor( Son of Priam). According to Cartwright, “The Trojan army defending the great city of Troy, led by their king Priam, had assistance from a long list of allies. The Trojans, too, had their semi-divine heroes and these include Hektor, Aeneas, Sarpedon, Glaukos, and Rhesos. They also had help from the gods, receiving assistance during the battle from Apollo, Aphrodite, Ares, and Leto”. Chryses implored a punishment for the Greeks that did not wait and manifested itself in the form of a great plague that decimated the Greek troops. Agamemnon decided to give back to Crisis, but in exchange for Achilles' wife. Achilles and his troops had a strong confrontation against the Greek army where days later it obtained a great defeat in which Menelaus dies. The defeat was first in front of the walls of Troy. Nevertheless, Ajax that rose in the battle like the symbolic leader of the Greek army got next to its men to resist the Trojan attack. Even the defeat could have become a victory when Patroclus (Cousin of Achilles) came to the battle with the armor of Achilles making everyone believe that Patroclus was the very Achilles. Nevertheless, Prince Hektor killed Patroclus believing that he was Achilles. Achilles blinded by rage and the desire to take revenge, he killed Hektor and dragged his corpse through the Trojan lands. After Hektor’s death, Paris wanted to avenge his brother's death with a crush on Achilles' heel, his only weak point. In his Iliad, Homer does not explain what happened to Achilles.
