When: The building of the Titanic started in the early months of 1909 and the construction lasted three years. On April 10th, 1912, the “unsinkable” ship departed from Europe. No more than four days later, the Titanic hit an iceberg around 11:30 p.m. and sank 2:20 a.m. Where: The Titanic embarked on it’s maiden voyage from the ports of Southhampton, England to New York City, New York. Before traveling across the Atlantic Ocean, the Titanic stopped in Queenstown, Ireland, which is now known as Cobh. The Titanic’s final resting point was about a thousand miles from New York and 350 miles off the Newfoundland coast.
