I am fascinated by history. I find this subject compelling because of how much it is overlooked, and also because by engaging with historical texts and stories, one is able to experience life vicariously through others in different time periods. By digging into history one can fight alongside the peasants in the French Revolution, explore new frontiers, and protest for social justice in the 1960s. Individuals can witness the brilliance of the Library of Alexandria, and can help in the construction of The Great Pyramids, all without moving from your seat. Reading about any of these events are priceless, but getting to feel as though you have lived and experienced the event is absolutely irreplaceable. For this reason, history captivates me,
