After fighting against cancer for many months with different types of medicine, a certain side effect kicks in, causing fluid to enter her lungs, making her unable to breath. This side effect is inconsistent meaning that it could happen at any time causing immeasurable pain and fear.Being forced to carry a large air tank everywhere to circumvent this side effect has made her feel his side effect has made her feel like an outsider from other people. The feeling of being different impacted her greatly as she began to feel meaningless in the world, and would have rather died from cancer, than remaining alive, until a character named Augustus entereds her life. Augustus impacts to Hazel’s life in a great way changing her life forever.
