What comes to mind when someone says drunk driving? Do you think of someone getting arrested? Do you think of underage drinking? Do you think of someone losing their life to a drunk driver? The definition of drunk driving is being behind a wheel of any motor vehicle with alcohol in your blood stream (Drunk). There are a lot of issues today with drinking and driving. There are underage drinking, alcoholics, and the authorities are trying to crack down on drinking and driving. Teen drinking is an extremely serious issue today in society. Firstly teens today cause a large number of accidents that involve drunk driving (underage). If teens drink a large amount of alcohol they are venerable to brain damage, which can cause poor school work (underage). Most teens do not understand that they legally responsible for underage drinking. They could face fines, arrest, or court costs (underage). The Alcohol Policy Information System, says that yearly five thousand kids under twenty-one die from car crashes, unintentional injure, homicides, or suicides that involve underage drinking (underage). To help with this problem the government passed The Sober Truth on Preventing Underage Drinking Act in 2006, and gave eighteen million dollars in funds for various programs designed to target underage drinking (underage). The United States government founded a program in 1935, for people who struggle with alcohol and called the program Alcoholics Anonymous or “AA” (Alcoholics).
