Five morphological observations were made from looking at the unknown fossil specimen. See the list of the observations that were made. Figure 4 Fossil Cladogram was then redrawn into the lab journal and a prediction was made on the fossil placement on the cladogram based on the observations. Next, an explanation of the reasons for the prediction was then recorded in the lab notebook. The four gene file were then downloaded onto the computer by going to the website listed below.…

The United States Constitution was written over the course of nearly four months and quickly became the most important document in U.S. history. Many of this historic document’s ideals can be found in two very important documents from the past. Both of these documents contained public rulers transferring their power to the people.…
Tony Kosgei Hour 5 Section #3 Hazardous Chamber Terrestrial Chamber To begin building our terrestrial chamber, was like a job for my group (which it wasn’t supposed to be) because my group were busy talking when I was busy building the terrestrial chamber (I was the terrestrial chamber captain). In order to build a terrestrial chamber you need fertilizer, grass seeds and most important of all is a consumer to main the gasses’ length. To begin with, on day 1 (8/26) we mixed stay green seed and to see which seed will survive the longest. Additionally, .5 of stay green dirt was used and 70 ml of water for the grass seeds to grow.…
Clearly, the contending views on federalism models are often associated with political ideology. Republicans tend to support the dual (layer cake) model, while democrats are more closely aligned with the cooperative (marble cake) model because it supports a stronger national government (Lecture 3 Federalism).Dual federalism implies the existence of distinct layers of government, each with powers in their own spheres; these powers are not mixed or shared (represented by the layer-cake metaphor). For example in the the layer cake model the national government rules by enumerated powers only (supported by the Tenth Amendment),has a limited set of constitutional purposes (despite the implied powers of the elastic clause) and the states are each sovereign within their own spheres.…

“Mericans” written by Sandra Cisneros is a story about a group of children primarily a girl, who are stuck between a transitional period of their lives due to their changing environment. The short story demonstrates culturistic differences by both location and background. The title of the short story is a perfect example of detailing how the children felt while waiting outside the church. They felt ostracized due to their background and grandmother. The children 's grandmother gave them one order which was to stay outside the church and wait, however the outside world gave them another.…
"Politics" originates from polis. This current term's accentuation is on group instead of the zone of region on which the state stands. In bygone governments the ruler's manner shaped the focal point of the city, around which everything else was gathered. Conversely, it was the public square or commercial center that shaped the focal meeting spot for residents in the polis. Political choice making forces were exchanged from the ruler to the get together; choices were figured in broad daylight; they must be defended to the natives and required their understanding.…
Among people and societies different cultures have always been present. Our human capacity for learning, using, and recognizing symbols allows for these cultures to develop and to change. Often times cultures’ beliefs and symbols don’t align with any person not born into that culture. However if that person observes this other culture through open and objective eyes, they can understand the reasons behind other cultural beliefs. Horace Miner’s observations of the Nacirema people in Body Ritual of the Nacirema reveal just how important perspective can be when observing other cultures.…
Grotius defined the state as the entity that was influenced by the people who lived within that specific area called the state. The leaders did not have total control over all the political decisions for the populations. Grotius goes on to define the Sovereign State as the state that had gone under the influence of a part of a larger entity with the people giving their sovereign rights to the ruler or rulers. In the state individuals had control over their lives and property while the sovereign state was, in a sense, owned completely by one person who could essentially take and do whatever they saw…
Federalist No. 32 Should the union control the states in terms of finance, the states’ needs, the peoples’ good senses, and the states’ fearful desire to maintain control would keep this power from becoming interrupted. However, should this not occur and should the states remain in full power of their own economics, they would have power beyond what they laid out in their constitution. Usually for a government to be created, each part of it must submit and lose their power. In the case of this constitution, this is not so.…
Document 1 is an extract from What is a Nation? by Ernest Renan, a French scholar known for his political theories on national identity. The document gives different aspects of what he claims forms a nation. It is written in 1882, in the period that the idea of nationalism was emerging with the 'rise of intra-European movements'.1 This could be argued to be partly the consequence of the resurgence of imperialism, which could have increased national feeling. France itself was recovering of her losses of the Franco-Prussian war, both territorial as status wise.…
