Table Mountain is made up of a north and south mountain. They are basaltic plateaus named for their flat top that looks like a table. It usually lasts about four weeks, in between the months of March and April. The wildflowers bring people from all around northern California, bringing in lots of tourists. People like to take photos and hike around on the north mountain. There’s even tours offered around this time of year, with days changing every year based on when the flowers are at their peak of blooming. There are several different species of flowers, the most common being lupine, frying-pan poppy, and goldfields. These are all protected by the California department of fishing and wildlife, meaning you cannot pick the flowers. Visitors may look, but not touch. There’s a variety of different species that live on this mountain. These species include the California newt, banana slugs, different types of frogs, several bird species, western Pacific rattlesnake, garter snakes, lizards, and several mammal species, including black-tailed deer, coyotes, mountain lion, and cattle that roam freely around the …show more content…
It’s a beautiful place to get away and hike at any time of the year. In the springtime it’s especially beautiful and I go see the wildflowers blooming and phantom falls flowing down into the canyon. The hike to the water fall is easy and doesn’t take too long to get there, so you see a variety of people young and old. Table Mountain is a great place to take pictures, so every time I go I never fail to see a photoshoot of a family or someone photographing the landscape.

Table Mountain has a presence and is a big part of butte county. It was created millions of years ago and has ancient history dating back to the 19th century.
