My chemical element is Sulfur. If you were to be looking at a periodic table, its symbol would be S. Sulfur’s atomic number is 16. Sulfur has 16 protons, 16 electrons, and 16 neutrons. Sulfur’s atomic mass is 32.065 and its mass number is 32. Sulfur comes from the Sanskrit word “Sulvere” and also the latin word “Sulphurium”. Sulfur was discovered in Ancient times and has been mentioned in both the Bible and the Torah. Sulfur is commonly found in meteorites, volcanoes, hot springs, and as galena, gypsum, Epsom salts, and barite. Naturally occurring sulphur is yellow and is often found as a crystal.
