Every single one of us here have probably been disappointed in our lifetime. However, awful the storm of disappointment is, the most important part of disappointment is how we respond to it. We can either respond to it in a negative way or a positive way. When the going gets tough you can either bounce back from disappointment or accept the failure. The media industry often portrays disappointment as your best friend like in Soul Surfer or your worst enemy like in Million Dollar Baby.

One day she was out with her friend surfing when she has victim of a shark attack. Obviously losing your arm is a very big disappointment and setback in your life. You can no longer do some things you could when you had two arms. While Bethany was in the middle of passing out in the ambulance on her way to the hospital she was imagining herself surfing on a wave. She went under the tunnel. Just as she was coming to the end she saw a bright white light and she was memorized. She look away from the light because something distracted her and she found herself awake in the ambulance. The light was suppose to represent heaven and the distraction was suppose to represent her fight and the fact that she didn’t want to die. Later on the movie she tries to surf and again it doesn't work. She gave up on surfing and hit rock bottom. She gave away all her surfboards. Her friend Sarah gave her great advice and said “I don't know why bad things happen to good people but I know something good will come out of this” Bethany didn't stop there. She found a way to get up on her board again She said “I don’t need easy. I just need possible” Bethany Hamilton didn't let disappointment take over her life. She fought back and didn't accept her failure. As seen in this visual Bethany’s time line hit rock bottom when she got attacked but she didn’t give. She kept fighting and she got back to where she was
