Research Paper On Softball

The topic I choose to do my research project on was on how to pitch a softball. I decided this because I have always wanted to play softball and learn the basics, but I never have been able to because I have extremely weak knees. So choosing this topic was easy. Right at the beginning of the week I started to plan the project and figured out what I needed in order to do this project. Now that I knew what I needed it was time to start.
On day one I couldn’t do anything because I didn’t have a ball to practice with. Ms. Reiffel told me that she would bring me a ball to practice with the next day of class. So I started doing research on how to pitch a softball since I had no idea on how to even do that! I found out that there are many different types of grips and pitching stances. For example, there is the “change up” pitch where the pitcher holds the softball a certain way and it makes it look like the balls going slower from the catcher's point of view.
On day two I received the ball and started to practice my form and I

Oops! On days four through seven I was back in school and that’s where I did most of the work. Every day I discovered something new about softball and I made sure that all of my research made it into some part of either my animoto or my how to document. In class I made my google slides, my animoto, my examtime, my google how to page which I put most of my research into, and then when I finished all of that up I put it into my weebly page. “You play ball like a girl!” this famous quote from The Sandlot shows how baseball and softball players are always arguing which sport is harder than the other and the difference between the two sports. Even though both are nearly identical in some ways, each sport has gear, popularity, and field they play on, that have an importance that makes each sport what it is and separates the two. Gear in baseball is one of the most needed items, if not the most needed. In baseball you need cleats for gripping the dirt and grass.…

Transgender issues in softball have become increasingly more aware in society, which brings up issues on the rules and regulations pertaining to the game. A transgender person should only be allowed to hit the ball size of their sex designated at birth unless they adhere to the rules and regulations pertaining to the league of choice. According to the United States Specialty Softball Association (USSSA) Official Rulebook, “men are not permitted to compete on women’s teams in USSSA sanctioned events” to ensure the safety of women players. This may seem a bit unfair, but when competing in women’s or coed softball tournaments there is a big difference.…
