For a social worker there is no typical day as each day is a different day with different cases and people. But some activities that they do on the daily is like answering phone calls, finding placements for patients, attending team meetings, writing reports, doing counseling, lectures and therapy. Teaching life skills, social skills, drug education, money management and parenting skills. Helping people in need, trying to come up with a plan for them, doing home visits

5. What made you want to become a social worker?
She wanted to work with children but she knew she didn't want to become a teacher and her mother had a friend who was a social worker. When she heard her mother's friend talking about being a social worker she had that feeling that that career would suit her perfectly. As working with children and being able to help them would make her want to get out of bed each day and go to work.
6. What skills are required in your position on a day-to-day basis? Kathy said to be a social work you need to have patients as you are working with people who don't always want your help so you have to be calm and loving. You have to have compassion and the want to help others. You need the strength to be able to help others and you have to be able to talk to people to get them to open up. You have to be flexible as each situation is different so you have to learn how to adapt. The biggest skill that is required is just being a kind hearted person that cares and wants to help
