How can you take a stand to challenge the rules? Shirley Chisholm was born in Brooklyn ,NewYork, in 1924.She was allowed to attend a public school. Shirley Chisholm was the first black congresswoman representing New York State. Shirley fought for education opportunities and social justice. She was an educational consultant for New York City’s Bureau of Child Welfare. Shirley Chisholm Grandmother and her group also was fighting for education. She fought and stood up for what's right. Shirley was an activist,she helped the Education and Labor Committee. She helped improve other people's lives.Shirley was not afraid to speak with power and she had said,” that her greatest tool is her mouth because she could say thing that others were afraid
