Is Regifting Rude?

Regifting is when you give a gift that someone gave to you and yes I think it is rude.
Regifting can be hurtful to the person that gave you the present because you don’t know hard that person work to buy the present or what it mean to them.
If you didn’t need the gift you could donate it or give it to your sister, that way someone can still use it. Also you can ask if you can return or exchange the gift.
Regifting is inconsiderate, most people take time and care choosing a perfect present for people to regifting it.

Marcel Mauss (2002) in his seminal work The Gift (2002) has said that even though gift-giving is technically a voluntary process and it is allegedly free of any egotism in reality gift giving and receiving is a social obligation and is inundated with self-interest. Mauss adds that the gestures associated with gift-giving, the mask of generosity and disinterestedness, are all mere fictions to appease our sense of propriety. In other words, when people give gifts they do so with the motive of receiving something in return. This exchange of gifts creates a bond of social and oftentimes economic obligation between people. If we hold Mauss’ ideas to hold true for the archaic societies he was speaking of, then we must acknowledge that the same must be true for the people living in the Middle East and Mediterranean in the 2nd and 1st Millennium BCE.…

I remember my mother read the book of Nacho to me every afternoon so I could learn how to read. My mother also read the book called Coquito, every night before going to bed.…

In Robert Fulghum’s book, All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten, he lists simple lessons. The simple lessons he listed are: put things back where you found them, play and work some every day, hold hands and stick together. Some people agree that these lessons apply to life today while others disagree. In my opinion, I agree that they still apply to us today. They may not be used the same way, but they are still used.…

Reciprocity constitutes a major exchange system in every society. Reciprocal exchange involves the transfer of goods and services between two people or groups based on role obligations. Birthday and holiday gift giving is a fine example of reciprocity, as during these occasions, we exchange goods not because we necessarily need or want them, but because we are expected to do so as part of our status and role. If we fail in our reciprocal obligations, we signal an unwillingness to continue the relationship. The main idea behind reciprocal exchange is the concept of giving.…
