Preschool to 4th Grade There are many many memories that come to mind when I think about preschool to 4th grade. I truly miss those days with all my classmates because we had a lot of fun together. Some of them have either moved away, but most of him are in the same high school as me now. It all started back in 2006 when I started preschool at Newman Catholic. My parents liked Newman because it was close to my house. My dad liked it because he could come get me and take me home and then go back to work. Preschool was a pretty interesting time for me, because my friends and I would always play games together. At Newman we would get recess at 10:30, 1:30, and 3:00. These times were the best times because all my worries would go away and all I had to do is run around and have fun. There was …show more content…
After two years at Newman Catholic I would attend Roosevelt Elementary in the fall for my first year of kindergarten. This would be a tough and hard year because all my friends would still be at Newman. I made a lot of new friends in the first week at Roosevelt. First, I met Parker, then I met Jonathan, then I met Chase. I would continue to meet new people everyday that I went to the big tan colored school. I would move to different grades every year up to 4th grade. Mrs. Meyer taught me in kindergarten, Mrs. Jordan in first, second, and third, and than Mrs. Koehler in 4th. These teachers really prepared me for middle school and high school. They were the people that were there for me everyday, because that was their job. I am so thankful that they were my teachers and it only makes it better when I go back and see them. Without them I wouldn’t know a whole lot today and my skills would not be as good. I loved elementary school. It was by far my favorite time in my life at an early age. Jonathan, Parker, and I are still friends, Chase moved away. He now attends Waverly Shell Rock in Waverly,

Some latchkey kids feel that they are not loved because their parents leave them at home alone. Some children do not understand that the parents have to work in order to provide them with the basic necessities. The only thing that the child may think is that the parent would rather work instead of spending quality time with them. For my public policy, I decided to focus on Head Start. The Head Start Act is a Federal act. It was last reauthorized in December 2007. This act provides funding for private and public non-profit agencies, as well as compensation for educators, research and evaluation of program models, and monitoring activities. The purpose of Head Start programs are to prepare young children (birth to five years) for school.…

Chapter Six Just a week or two before kindergarten started we (my fellow kindergartners and I) had to go through kindergarten screening, just to see what we could do, like counting, shapes, colors and simple things like that. That went fairly well according to my parents, as I do not remember everything about it. One of the good things was that almost my entire class went to preschool together so we already knew who was who and we already had friends. Another fun thing that happened that year was our school put on a play, the play was about slavery and the underground railroad, and all of us little kids got to be slaves. Believe it or not we did not have a huge role in the play.…

Throughout life many people grow up into brilliant young adults, but often times they do not realize the importance of their childhood. When I look at the future, I cherish the moments that have impacted my life throughout Wall Elementary because without these moments I would not be where I am today. I remember when I walked into kindergarten for the very first time, like it was yesterday, and Mrs. Kissko was waiting to meet all of her students for the new year. I was nervous and excited to enjoy the many opportunities that school had to offer me.…

For the first five years of elementary school, I attended the small school located at the back of our church’s property. Enrollment ranged from about 10-15 students in 1st through 8th grade. The last three years of my grade school experience were spent attending Lodi Seventh-day Adventist Elementary. This school went from kindergarten to 8th grade and fed into Lodi Academy, so in all, kindergarten through 12th grade! I came from a small, two-room school, and seeing as I was not very accustomed to being with such a large body of students, suddenly becoming immersed in a class with more students than that of my entire old school was definitely intriguing!…

Imagine leaving your home country only to go to a foreign place, now referred to as “home” and being forced to attend school without knowing the language. My family immigrated from Kosovo to the United States in January of 2004. I was only 5 years old at the time, so learning another language was fairly easy. My parents eagerly wanted to enroll me in school, and after only a few weeks of settling in my parents along with my uncle scheduled a meeting with the local elementary school. I was accepted and attended kindergarten at two elementary schools, which was tiring but beneficial to me learning English faster.…
