Parenting, as gleeful as it sounds, can get frustrating during the course of time your child grows. With growth, there are numerous things that come along with it and need to be taken care of. One ingredient that becomes most wanted during the growth stage is "Patience". As parents we tend to run out of it very often when it comes to handling our kids. This especially applies during the potty training period with your toddlers. At many times we are unable to take the tantrums, screams, stubbornness and adamancy of not being able to sit on the potty, etc.
So how do we handle them? Do we just give in to their tantrums and put them in diapers until they agree? …show more content…
As a parent, when you are able to observe your toddler and see a time pattern for potty use, you can start potty training by taking him/her to the bathroom right on time. This practice will slowly create awareness in the toddler's mind too and they would automatically get instinctively trained as they grow. This would save a lot of hassles as a parent for you when they come to the age of 2 or so and also save your time and energy of changing soiled diapers.
However complete awareness of independently using the toilet would only come in by the age of 3 or maybe 4 irrespective of how early one starts off with potty training methods with their toddler. Now as a parent you should first get to know what does not work when it comes to training your child for the potty.
1) Be sure that your child is ready to start potty training. Never be in a rush to start off early. You can observe your child's activities to decide the right time to start. Some of the clues that you get for when to start are when he/she has developed any of the following habits:
* Regular and soft bowel movements
* The ability to pull down pants
* Copy other's bathroom
