Research Paper On Positive Reinforcement

Positive reinforcement is a very practical method that helps change the behavior of a person. I have been reinforced many times in my life, and have used positive reinforcement in diverse situations for example at school, with my family and in social situations. Yet, my favorite positive reinforcement would be the times I have used this technique with my four-year-old sister as I babysit her sometimes during weekdays. She is an energetic little girl who loves to draw, paint and play with her dolls but as any other children at that age she makes a big mess with her toys. Though, getting her to clean the mess after she is finished playing can be challenging to accomplish. In the past I have tried a variety of methods to motivated her to pick up her toys after she is done and place them in the box where they belong but nothing seemed to work. Every time she picked up something she would come to my room saying I pick up the things that were on the floor. Can I get my sticker? As a result we needed to be careful what we leave on the floor because she will put away everything thinking that she is doing the right thing. I keep giving her positive reinforcement since I want her to keep feeling inspired by continue to clean her toys. Actually positive reinforcement work great with her. I think Positive Reinforcement is one of the best method for children’s, parents should use it more often instead of punishment. Because punishment is not a good method when a person wants to give a lesson to a child, in the other hand positive reinforcement it could be a nice method to shape a behavior.
