When people act obnoxious and disrespectful, I would just like to go up to them and say “I was at about six there. Don’t make me go to ten”, a quote said by Dale in Step Brothers. My pet peeves involve the disrespectful actions of high school students. It really irks me when people in band just don’t play their music correctly or march properly. If we have been practicing the same song for a short amount of time, then I understand if most don’t pick up the notes right away.…

This assignment offers you the occasion to write a letter to the editor of any newspaper, business, or organization that you choose. Typically, these types of letters are written in response to articles in such publications, or in response to some local issue that might be also connected to a national one. Readers also respond to the inclusion of specific ads, especially their design or content, in publications. So, to begin with, consider an issue about which you have a strong opinion or “pet peeve”—something that bothers you or something that you think ought to be changed. Eventually you should also read carefully through one of your chosen publications—the one to which you will address your letter.…
An Emmaus boys soccer player repeatedly called an opposing team's player a racial slur during last week's game, multiple witnesses said. The Emmaus senior, who is white, continued to hurl the slur at Whitehall junior Javaughn Hussett, who is black, even after being confronted by his coach, John Cari, and the opposing team's players, according to Hussett's mother, Tanya, and teammate Anthony Kleckner. Kleckner said other Emmaus players directed racial digs at Hussett, though not as loudly or as often as their teammate. A game referee was in earshot the first time the boy called Hussett the slur, but did not discipline him, he said Wednesday.…
The booing of Adam Goodes is not racially motivated. ‘Booing’ cannot necessarily be identified as racial remark. Adam Goodes is the one who can stop the booing. His actions and responses in situations have caused people to begin the booing to show their dislike for his ways. Therefore the booing isn’t racially motivated in anyway.…
Being a college student can be overwhelming, in addition being a student experiencing life with fear, should this take opportunity from other students to address topics such as rape, physical abuse and racism? It should not. Lukianoff and Haidt, discussed trigger warnings across universities as a movement in the rising. Consequently, it can be beneficial as it will give students time to prepare or at least know a subject contacting graphical content will be discussed in class. Although, trigger warnings seem to be doing more harm than good, as some students are taking the warnings too far.…
Thousands of people revile Offit publicly at rallies, on Web sites, and in books. Type pauloffit.com into your browser and you’ll find not Offit’s official site but an anti-Offit screed “dedicated to exposing the truth about the vaccine industry’s most well-paid spokesperson.” Go to Wikipedia to read his bio and, as often as not, someone will have tampered with the page. The section on Offit’s education was once altered to say that he’d studied on a pig farm in Toad Suck, Arkansas.…
My second pick for the most frustrating activity would be the math ones. I completely under stand what kids go through because I was one of them. The part that frustrated me the most is the long drawn out instruction. When I am in the class room I will try to keep my instructions short and to the point.…
I believe that I am the type of person that gets irritated easily , every little thing that someone does makes me somewhat angry. One of my biggest pet peeves is when I’m at school in between classes trying to get to my next class and couples are standing in the middle of the hallway kissing each other like they haven’t seen each other in years. I understand that couples love each other but one thing I don’t understand is why they have to stand in the middle of the hallway. They don’t even have enough respect to move over to the side of the hallway and start kissing they just stop and start kissing each other wherever they are standing.…
I went to Enid, Oklahoma Municipal Court, which was held on September 23rd at 2 p.m. The judge that was over the court room was James Long that featured hearings for adult misdemeanors and traffic court. In addition, I have attended Stillwater’s court and have experienced Mrs. Raun in August. The comparison is to me the attitudes on how handling the people. I have only been in court once because of running a red light and the other times I have went has been for this class and another class for straight observation.…
The creation and use of social media has, for better or worse, become one of the defining characteristics of Generation-Z, or the Millennials. According to Pew Research, roughly 90% of young adults between the ages of 18-29 use social media. According to Link Humans, the average number of accounts run by an individual user is five (Link Humans). Those are significant numbers, and those numbers correlate to a larger shift in the way we communicate with each other and in the way we participate and create our culture and our entertainment. Users are now far more capable to participate in the creation and production of things than they used to be.…
By Cheyenne Schaller “Where we could see how the “rich” lived and experience - even if just for an hour a day”(Alyssa Rosenberg). As wealthy tv shows begin to fill channels. “A fantasy world where we have started to induce ourselves into the lives of the 1%” (Farnoosh Torabi). It's true, we all prefer to watch the rich, even if we don't like to admit it. You most likely have a tv.…

Tapping Hypocrites most likely everyone knows at least one in their life. Well I have a pet peeve and it makes me a huge hypocrite. Picture yourself in a classroom sitting there working really hard on your work trying to the best of your abilities. Then you hear it tap, tap, tap of the person next to you tapping their foot and their hand, pencil just shaking like they are tapping. While you yourself are doing the exact same thing that you get so annoyed with.…
