Perseverance is essential in life. In Girl Scouts, I have worked extremely hard to earn the Bronze, Silver, and Gold Award. It took a lot of time and dedication but it was all worth it in the end. In order to earn the Gold Award, I had to earn the Bronze and Silver. The Bronze Award was just a journey book, but the Silver Award was where I got to volunteer in my community. I got to volunteer sixty-eight hours with my local nursing home, (Seaview) by painting women's nails. This let me able to interact with older generations and bond over the things that we both had in common while I painted each nail individually. When I would talk to the people there, they were so inviting and friendly. I loved painting nails there because it allowed the women to feel good about themselves. It was a way of getting to know everyone's names in a less awkward setting. Even though I only went every Tuesday for a few hours, the people there were so welcoming. For 11 years now I have been a Girl Scout and last year I received my Gold Award, the highest achievement in Girl Scouts. The entire process took me an entire year to complete. Before you start, you have to choose a problem to solve and how you are going to solve it. So I chose my project based off of one of my biggest loves, animals. I got my community involved in the problem of how little people know about the laws for pets, but before I could even start my project, I was assigned a woman to help me with my project called a Gold Award Advisor. We designed a virtual contract to email every fifteenth of every month in order to stay in touch. When it was the fifteenth of the month, I made sure to email her explicitly with what I had done and what I was planning on doing, and for some reason I never got a response from her. She never told me if anything was good or bad, but she did get my emails. When my project started taking off I just did
