The ocelot is known widely around as the dwarf leopard. The ocelots main habitat is in south america it can also be found in central america and the islands of Trinidad or margarita another place it can be found in mexico. It weighs approximately twenty to forty four pounds and it can get up to three feet long. The ocelot is a carnivorous type, when the female ocelot is giving birth she can have two to three kittens per litter. The scientific name for the ocelot is leopardus pardalis. The population can range from eight hundred thousand all the way up to one point five million across south america. The ocelot is a nocturnal animal they like to hide in small trees and bushes to await for their prey to cross their path so that they can pounce
