“For to be free is not merely to cast off one’s chains, but to live in a way that respects and enhances the freedom of others.” This quote by Nelson Mandela can tell us how great it is to have freedom and respect for all. Nelson Mandela was a man that helped bring democracy to the black natives of South Africa. He is a hero in my eyes because he fought for other people, stayed behind his beliefs and wanted equality for all, and was honored and respected for his actions. He was a man that searched for freedom and equality for all. He didn’t care about the consequences and fought until South Africa’s government was fair to all.

He simply wanted to unify Africa as one. He led the anti-apartheid movement and became the role model for other people to stand up and speak for what they think is right.
