Nelson Mandela became the first black president of South Africa, but before he could become as great as he was he had to go through 27 years of jail. Mandela used to be very hostile and aggressive because of being treated so unfairly. The police had to arrest him before he could hurt somebody. But when he got back out he still wasn't afraid of jail. He continued his protest for black rights, but this time he wasn't as aggressive. …show more content…
In his inaugural speech he thanked all of his supporters for helping him get to where he was. In his youth at a village near Umtata Nelson went to a local mission school. Nelson got his first name from a British schoolteacher that couldn't pronounce his name. After primary school he went to the University College of Fort Hare for the Bachelor of Arts Degree.He was later kicked out of school for boycott. Mandela probably thought about his childhood for all 27 years he was held in prison. Mandela must have had to go through so many challenges to get where he was, and I think that if he went through all of that to install black rights then he should have gotten what he wanted a long time
