Today boys and girls we are going to Measure Mustaches using a mustache ruler as our non standard unit of measurement. There are different mustaches around the room Each one has a number on it. There are 10 mustaches. On Each mustache, you will measure how long each is using your mustache ruler. (I will show students how to measure using the mustache ruler. I will show an example by having the first mustache taped onto the poster.)
Now boys and girls I want you to go around the room and measure the ten mustaches using your mustache ruler just as I did. (Show students where the mustaches are.)
When you are done, I want you to work in your workstation. Give students partners to measure the mustaches with.
