One of the most important pieces of equipment to wear besides a helmet while participating in a sport is a protective mouthguard. A mouthguard not only helps to protect the teeth from breakage, but also protects the lips, tongue, and cheeks, which can all sustain injuries from an impact. But how do you protect your smile if you wear braces?

There are three types of traditional mouthguards on the market today: ready-made, boil and bite, and custom-fitted. Unfortunately, traditional mouthguards are not suitable for those who wear braces.
