South Carolina militia forces would seize the city’s other forts shortly thereafter, leaving Fort Sumter as the lone federal outpost in Charleston.…

His significant tombstone, in which indicates he is buried with his son Alfred claims he drowned and the body never found on October 4, 1882. However, he appears in the 1891 census! Could it be the tombstone should have 1892 instead? And then there is the other story about how he died — by being killed by a bear north of Parry Sound resulting in naming Killbear Park after the bear. (The naming of this park, from Killbear Point, is more likely named from the Objiwe Mukwa-Nayosh meaning 'Bear Kill '.…

Colton Ender 6th October Journal 10/18/2016 Over the weekend I had to do yardwork, like rake pinecones and dump them into our neighbors burn pile. Over the weekend we also took our camper down to Cooler Valley RV to get it winterized.…

Celebrating the determination, compassion, and strength of the Joplin citizens, this monument resembles the wristbands worn by citizens and volunteers during the first few months of recovery. City officials and locals repeatedly highlight the vital role these attitudes and values played in the city’s recovery. Designed by students at Drury University, built and installed by the Paul Mueller Company, and unveiled in October of 2011 on the final episode of Extreme Makeover Home Edition, the monument is part of a two monument tribute to the thousands…
