Malala had a good childhood before the Taliban started taking over. Malala was born on July 12,1997. She had two brothers and her parents Ziauddin and Tul Makai Yousafzai. She lived in the city Swat in Pakistan. Her dad, owned a girl school which Malala went to. Her hometown, Swat was famous tourist place but when the Taliban started taking over, less people came there. She went to the school until the winter break in 2008. The Taliban had threatened to close the school and had closed many other girl schools in the area. Then the Taliban opened the girl schools in February to let them finish their final exams. Once the schools closed down in 2009 she became a BBC blogger. She told everyone about their life there and her blog ended on March 12. By July the prime minister of Pakistan pushed the Taliban out of the area. Before she started blogging in 2009, she had a speech called “How dare Taliban deny my education.” She reopened the schools the schools in August. She was the star of many TV shows like Toronto Star and Daily Aaj. She was invited to meet Barak Obama. On her 18th birthday July 12, 2015 the day was named Malala Day.
