Research Paper On Liz Vendetta

Lizetta and I met up in Café Jennie, and talked for around forty minutes. We had the initial intention of sticking to the questions on the assignment sheet, however, we quickly veered off the list, and ended up discussing We Need New Names. Firstly, we talked about what would constitute as a perfect day for us. For Lizetta, a perfect day would consist of relaxing on a warm and sunny beach, while listening to music. She said that she likes the beach because it is quiet and calming, as opposed to her hometown of Brooklyn. We then talked about things we would change from our childhood. We both discovered that while we came from vastly different hometowns (I’m from a small suburb in upstate New York and Lizetta is from New York City), we both went to high schools which lacked …show more content…
Talking to Lizetta, I also learned that her biggest accomplishment is either making it to Cornell or becoming valedictorian of her high school. Also, if she were to be remembered for one thing, Lizetta would like to be remembered for her generosity because, in her words, “when a person is able to give, it really says something about their character and values.” Lizetta is the youngest sibling in her family, and has an older brother and sister. Since Lizetta doesn’t see her sister often, if she could spend a day with anyone, she would spend it with her sister. After answering some of the questions, we started to talk about our excitement about this program, especially the homestay component. Our discussion about the program lead to our discussion about We Need New Names. When we were talking about Darling and the role she plays in the story, Lizetta mentioned that she thought Darling was an endearing and funny character. We also briefly discussed some main themes in the
