Then two players from opposite sides do a face off. They get into a squatted position and when the referee starts the game they try and get the ball to their teammates. Who are on the outside of the circle. The other players can't move until the ball is touched by the players in circle. That is called a face off. Face offs are also used to start new quarters and after a goal is scored. The players may only use their sticks to catch, throw, and run with the ball. only the goalie can use his hands. The way players get the ball is by hitting it away from the opposing team. Aswell as getting a missed throw or pass. When hitting to get the ball loose they usually hit the ball-carriers hand or stick to make them drop it.They may also body check if the opponent is within 5 yards of a loose ball. A body check may only occur from the front or the side either above the waist or below the shoulders and you must have both hands on your stick at that times. If the ball goes out of bound then the opposing team gets the ball. If it goes out on a unsuccesful shot the opposing player closest is awarded the ball. The game is resumed by starting a new play not passing it in.
