After the move, Krystyna applied to British Intelligence. Due to her immense intellect, charming personality and her fluency in multiple languages, she was immediately intercepted into the Special Operations Executive Branch of British Intelligence. For six weeks she travelled across Europe in the pursuit of discovering German troop placement. During this time she also covertly met with Polish leaders, what was said in those meeting is still only speculated. Her official espionage career began in Budapest in the year 1940. Under the cover of a journalist, her assignment was to aide a resistance group in their fight against Nazi invasion and to assist Polish refugees in their escape across the border.
