Decent Essays
When I read the article about Gabe, Johnny and Raymonds time in the wilderness I believed that they were completely justified in killing animals for food. I mean after all we do it everyday by the thousands so everyone who eat's meat has no say in the matter. It is definetly NOT ok to hunt animals for sport. Unless you eat the animal it is not ok. You can't just waste life it is a gift and should be held sacred and you should be grateful for it in every form.
Killing for sport is inhumane. It's inhumane because they have lives and they feel. Often lactating or pregnant animals are killed and their young are left to die. Almost never do the hunted animals die quickly. Hunting is not a sport the name disguises unneeded killing sprees as a acceptable

Hunting is viewed as a sport by many, but a game by few. It is a measurement of the wits of man versus the instincts of animals, and often times the mental strength of humans overcomes the physical strength of animals. In the past hunting was used as a means for survival, but today you can drive to the nearest grocery store and purchase your meat faster than you can load your rifle. Therefore, hunting is used more for recreational enjoyment than necessity. Many people in today's society use hunting as a form of entertainment, while others condone, but do not partake in this sport due to their appreciation of the animal kingdom.…

I understood little about what it meant to hunt. Hunting is not about sitting in wait to end an animal's life; however, it is about experiencing nature at a primal level while being able to see nature awaken from its slumber, slowly coming back to life as the sun shyly peeks of the horizon, and other details we normally cannot as we go about our daily lives. In an office or at home, I do not get to watch a squirrel gracefully hop from one limb to another, and cannot have one close enough to see it's chest move from it breathing hastily. Killing is the last thing on my mind when hunting because it is merely a necessity to take part in population management of whitetail deer, squirrels, and many other game animals down so my grandchildren can enjoy…

Research Paper Intro For many generations, controversy has surrounded the topic of hunting as tugs between the morals of killing innocent animals and its necessity in the role of the environment as it ties to the importance of survival. Although many have found issues in relation to the ethics of hunting, the popular “sport” helps to control over population, benefits the economy, and is a major resource for nourishment. The practicality and necessity of hunting and its ability to promote survival as a foundational food source and its benefit to the environment outweighs the questionable principles that arouse controversy on the topic.…

Sure they will eat some of them because they have to to survive, but will they waste many?…

Imagine your grandmother is fighting a battle with cancer and she is in a hospital bed brain dead and unable to breath on her own wouldn't you want what's best for her, or would you want her to suffer for the rest of her life? While others believe killing another is not justified ending a life can be, in the case of Military Ethics, Euthanasia, and in the case of George and Lennie. By definition humans are animals. Humans kill humans and it is a massive crime. The question remains: why is that when animals are killed by humans, it’s completely accepted? As scientific research has revealed more of the nature of our fellow animals in recent years, many people over the world have debated and petitioned for a bill of rights for animals. There should be a bill of rights for animals because they exhibit humanlike cognitive abilities and emotions and must be protected from harmful abuse, but these rights must not blur the line with human rights.…
