Who is Jesus to Me? “And he asked them, “But who do you say that I am?” Peter answered him, “You are the Christ” (Mark 8:29). This is what Peter thinks about who Jesus is. His description is what many people think of Jesus today. There are multiple opinions about Jesus; people either do not worship him at all, or they do believe, therefore, they pray and go to church. I, myself am a Lutheran, and I believe in God. Although my views have changed over the years, I still go to church and pray. I will further explain what I think of Jesus, and my experiences with him religiously. All in all, Jesus is someone who will look out for people. It is hard to say if Jesus actually lived since there is only the bible that has been passed down and changed over the centuries. I think Jesus walked on this Earth over 2000 years ago, and I believe that he did a lot in his lifetime. Jesus performed incredible miracles like healing a blind man, cleanse multiple people of having an unclean spirit in them, and feed many people with only little resources. This means to me that Jesus cared for his people and did not want them to suffer. Because of this, this is why he died for our sins. Since Jesus has done many grateful things for people, for me, it showed that he will go out of his way and take care of the wellbeing …show more content…
I went to bible class since kindergarten. I remember doing creative activities, and my teachers educating us on what Jesus did. As a child, I do no really know what I thought about Jesus. I was taught that he was our Lord and Savior, but my opinion would be subject to change later. Either way, when I was younger, I recall the Christmas play I used to be a part of, and this is what I thought Jesus was at the time. The play revolved around the birth of Jesus, and I think that if he did exist, he was born in a manger, and his parents were Mary and Joseph. These Christmas plays really shaped what I thought about Jesus and who he

The Bible verse that truly touches me about Jesus’s character can be found in the book of Revelation, which stated “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me” Revelation 3:20 (NKJV). My role in this is to simply answer the calling of Jesus, for it is apparent He wants to be a part of my…

It was God’s promise that His Son Jesus would descend from Abraham and be the Messiah. The Gospel of Matthew 1:1-16 lists the genealogy of Jesus and he includes four women who were gentiles: Tamar, Rahab, Ruth, and the wife of Uriah. God wanted His Son to be the Savior for all people, both Jews who believed in God, as well as gentiles who were non-believers. To fulfill his promise to Abraham and also make certain that Jesus would be the Messiah for everyone, God needed to make certain that some mothers to Jesus’ ancestors were non-Jews. God worked through these gentile women to make sure the ancestral line continued from Abraham to Jesus and that His Son would be the Savior for the whole world.…

I believe that Jesus is the Messiah and I believe that some of these are truly prophecies and others I believe are not. Psalms was written as poems and songs, it is about David and His experiences. I do not believe that someone can just pick a single verse out of Psalms and say it is a prophecy to fit their own agenda. David was writing about his hands and feet being pierced because that was a common practice done to criminals at the time. There are more concrete prophesies in the bible about Jesus then the ones that we studied this week.…

“Jesus is a religious leader whose life and teachings are recorded in the Bible’s New Testament. He was born in 6 B.C. in Bethlehem and it is believed that he died for the sins of all people and rose from the dead. Jesus’s parents were Joseph and Mary and he was born a Jew, as descendant of King David. Jesus passed away at the age of 33 years old.…

There is no question in the historicity of Jesus of Nazareth who was a real historical person., even with the limited amount of sources both secular and Christian. Proof that Jesus existed is obtained most directly through eyewitness testimony of the existence of the apostles of Jesus. Other available documents that we do have support the conclusion that Jesus was known as a historical figure by Christian writers 20-30 years after His death -the Pauline Epistles were written within that timeframe. For example, in Galatians, Paul says he meets James, “But I saw none of the other apostles except James, the Lord’s brother” (1:19 NKJV). And in the Epistles there are many references to events within ten years of Jesus’ death and secular non Christian…

Jesus' resurrection did not happened: Like the Pharisees, Jesus and Paul believe in the resurrection of the dead, while the Sadducees did not. Many times, Jesus told his disciples that he would rise again after three days, and as promised, he appeared in front of them, but in Mat (28.17), "They saw him and worshiped, and yet some doubted". In Marc (16.11), Mary Magdalene, the first witness, told them that Jesus was alive: "but they did not believe." Luke (24.37 to 41) says: “they felt fear, they saw a spirit ... yet they believed not and remained astonished". So, despite the prophecies, despite his appearances after his death, despite signs on his hands and feet, and despite their faith, his own disciples did not believe in his resurrection and required tangible evidence.…

Because Jesus was raised with very little, He gained His wealth and worth in His Heavenly Father and was able to be an example to all of those around Him and for future generations to come. In Matthew 8:20, Jesus says, “ Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head.” He depended on the charity of others to provide food and shelter for Him. The apostle Paul actually makes it a priority to emphasize to his readers just how much Jesus was living in poverty. If one truly wanted to be blunt about the matter, they could easily say that Jesus lived His life in ministry, homeless, according to today’s definition.…

Thank you Maria for your definitions and your choice of scriptures. Your scripture has a lot to do with the reason why He did miracles because He had to do what the Father has commanded Him to do. Jesus did many miracles that were so compelling that John had to introduce as "signs. " These signs were meant to reveal the truth in who Jesus is, and the purpose of His supernatural power.…

Jesus Christ is the true God in human flesh. As stated in the beginning, everything was made in God’s image. Jesus proved to be the true image of God because of His actions and the way He lived His life until His death on the cross. As said in Colossians 1, Jesus is also stated to be the creator of all things. In the passage John 1, John states that “all things were made through him, and without him was not anything made that was made” (John 1:1-3).…

By saying this, he states that Jesus possesses the status of Godhood. As soon as Peter says this, Jesus tells him that God, his Father, had revealed it to him. If Jesus were not the Messiah and never wanted to be seen as such, then he certainly would not have told Peter that it was a revelation of God. Jesus also directly declares God to be his Father in John 8:54 when he says, “Jesus answered, “If I glorify myself, my glory is nothing. It is my Father who glorifies me, of whom you say, ‘He is our God.’…

Jesus in Christianity is often seen as the central figure of worship, a divine individual, and has also been described in the bible as performing miracles with gifts that his father bestowed on him. It is a common misconception of many believing that Jesus is seen the same in every religion. However, the religion of Islam proves that Jesus is not seen with the same perspective that Christians see Jesus; although there are some similarities. In Islam, the Qur’an (which is the moral code for Muslims, which they live by) demonstrates that Jesus was born of a virgin (Q: 3:45), Jesus was nothing more than a messenger of Allah (Q. 19:30-33), Muslims do not believe in the trinity, Jesus was not crucified, neither was he resurrected as in Christianity…

Before Jesus came to earth, some Jews knew that they were missing something. They were missing a leader, a messiah. The Jews needed someone they can recognize to lead them on the right path in life and grow closer to God. Those who waited were able to understand Jesus was this one immediately when they met him, but it took others longer. Some Jews wanted to hurt this man who came on earth claiming to be God because they did not believe.…

If one person claims something doesn’t exist and another person claims the same does exist, only one can be right. If one forms an opinion without diligent, accurate research, and that opinion turns out to be wrong, this erring of thought could have been avoided. If eternal life is lost due to erring thoughts, even though the eternal was not understood, then Pascal’s Wager would have seemed the logical option. If one stands up and states proof of God exists, perhaps this one should be heard. I was never a writer; more of a thinker.…
