Hypertrichosis is excessive hair growth in women, it occurs in the entire body. It causes all parts of the body to have an excess in hair growth, all except the axillary areas, and the pubic areas. The disease starts to show up shortly after birth, it can happen from the side effects of drugs, or the association with cancer, and also links with eating disorders. Congenital forms of hypertrichosis is caused by genetic mutation. Congenital hypertrichosis lanuginosa is noticeable at birth, with the infant completely covered in thin lanugo hair.
