The ancient Egyptians wrote in what is called hieroglyphics but not like us the Egyptians didn't have paper they would write on a stone tablet or an early form of paper called papyrus. The papyrus they wrote on was made out of silt from the Nile River. Hieroglyphics is a form of writing that uses mainly symbols. In Ancient Egypt they didn't have pens and pencils they would mainly write with sticks and stones. They mainly wrote about important things because they had to go make the papyrus and then they have to write all the symbols I bet they are not going to go through all that trouble just to say hey how was your day. They would mainly write to each other when something very important happened or when there has been a death in the family
